In 2006 we taught 686 kids how a farm works. Thousands of other kids and adults came to take a walk, enjoy the view, meet the animals, volunteer in the gardens, and learn about farming in our community. We developed our own Fiber Center where kids could work with the wool from our sheep — dye it, spin it and then weave it with looms to make blankets and crafts.

We created a corn maze and held our first music festival, Cornapalooza. We provided 23 scholarships for Island children to attend our programs. We rebuilt the barns, maintained the fields and equipment and took on hundreds of other jobs involved with preserving this historic farm. We’re working to build a learning center where kids and families will be able to stay overnight and expand their FARM experience.

In 2007 we’re starting a CSA program (Community Supported Agriculture), or you can grow-your-own in our new Community Garden. We’ve started a Work Income Sharing Project (WISP) where kids will grow and sell their own food. Other new programs include "Wee Farmers" and "Farmer for a Day."

And that’s not half of it.

How did we get all of this done? The FARM’s extended family is filled with amazing, dedicated people who truly care about this work — our staff, our Board, our volunteers, and our donors — people like you.

Enjoy your meal. Enjoy our appreciation.
