All are welcome in the Friendship Garden, where our summer camp kids celebrate all things green and growing! A diverse array of flowers, fruits and vegetables fills the garden throughout the summer, and along with the greenhouse, chicken coop, bean teepees and compost bins, this beautiful little bit of earth provides an abundant source of food, learning and fun for campers, visitors and staff alike.
Since the Friendship Garden is an educational garden, all fruit (strawberries!) and vegetables grown here are used in our educational programs and camp. During the summer, campers spend lots of time here helping grow and harvest vegetables for Friday Fiesta!
While all of our gardens use organic methods and materials, we are not yet a certified organic farm.
This garden provides a gorgeous sunny spot for community members and farm staff to engage in their own gardening pursuits. Individual plots are 8 by 20, and the farm provides fencing, watering, and tools to share. The garden opens in April and plots are available for the entire season for $40 each, $32 for existing Trustees members, and FREE to new members if you sign up at the FARM. To learn more view our flyer and gardener agreement.
Call (508) 627-7007 or e-mail LBrown@thetrustees.org to reserve.
From autumn thru spring the greenhouse provides salad mix and braising greens to the supermarkets and to the local schools. Seedlings for both the friendship and production gardens are started in the greenhouse in early spring, and the greenhouse also provides an additional outdoor classroom space for students and summer campers.
