This program, for students 12 or older, serves as a first work
experience for many youth participants. There are three apprenticeship
programs to choose from: Counselors in Training, Farm Hands, or
Market Gardeners.
Counselors in Training (CITs) will assist Farmer/Teachers in all
aspects of camp operations and will learn about responsibility,
leadership, and the satisfaction that accompanies a job well done.
CITs are an integral part of the success of our camp and we are
able to give community service credit for students who participate
in this program.
Farm Hands will assist TFI farm staff in all aspects of farm operations
including livestock, pasture, and equipment and facility maintenance.
Market Gardeners assist in our production garden with planting,
cultivating, harvesting and selling at the Saturday Farmers Market
in West Tisbury.
We will be accepting a limited number of apprentices this summer.
Please contact the Summer Programs Director for more information.
